What are the steps to getting a nightguard ?
The first step in fabricating a dental nightguard is performing a full oral exam including radiographs. After diagnosis has been made and and if you are ready to get a nightguard. The step in fabricating a night guard is taking a scan of your teeth .The scan is then sent to the dental laboratory where your custom nightguard is made. When the nightguard is ready, the fit will be checked and the nightguard delivered. Specific instructions will be given regarding how to care for the nightguard.
How long will it last?
Custom made night guards are long lasting unlike over the counter night guards. The longevity of the nightgaurd depends on how severely you grind your teeth. Every bruxer is different and applies a different amount of force on the nightgaurd. Always bring your nightgaurd to your appointments so it can be evaluated at your six month recall visits.
